Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks is located in beautiful Ventura County, with miles of coastline and the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
 
Thousand Oaks offers a variety of recreation, leisure, and retail/shopping options for the entire family. The City is only 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles and about an hour from Santa Barbara. Fun places like Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and the Getty Museum are within about an hour driving distance.

 

The Gardens of the World

 

The Gardens of the World is privately owned and operated by the Hogan Family Foundation, Inc. The Gardens exist not only as a cultural contribution to the community, but as an educational tool. Volunteer docents lead guided tours and assist with school tours throughout the year.

 

Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area

 

The world’s largest urban national park, extending more than 45 miles from the Hollywood Bowl to Ventura, features a rich variety of plants and wildlife.

 

MB2 Raceway Indoor Go Karting

Theater League and Civic Arts Plaza

 

Founded in 1976, Theater League is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, community-based performing arts organization dedicated to the development of professional theater, both as a cultural and an educational resource.

 

Ronald Reagan Presidential Library

 

During his eight years as President, Ronald Reagan recorded his innermost thoughts and observations in his personal diary. These handwritten diaries have been coupled with his White House Diary - a daily schedule of meetings and events the President attended - to provide insights into the historic, the extraordinary, and the routine day-to-day events of his Presidency.

 

Shopping/Dining: The Oaks

 

The Oaks is a regional destination offering the only major enclosed shopping center within a 20-mile radius and drawing consumers from all over the Southern California region. In addition to retail and a luxury movie theater, there are numerous dining options from The Cheesecake Factory to Lazy Dog Café.

 

The Promenade at Westlake
 

The Promenade offers excellent shopping, restaurants and entertainment, such as Brighton, Bristol Farms, Farfalle, Marmalade Cafe, Paul Martin's American Grill, Grill on the Alley, Cinepolis Cinemas and Live entertainment Saturday Nights.

 

 

Historical Landmarks and Points of Interest

 

From the historic Stage Coach Inn first built in 1876 to the Chumash Indian Museum dedicated to to restoring and preserving an awareness of the Chumash people, you will find  a treasure of sites representing  the rich history of the Conejo Valley.
